- COCOApril 15, 2025We’re only in April and I’m afraid this already might be movie of the year.
- TeddyFurlow9h agoOh what a great production by Ryan Coogler. Would've been better if I went in blind not knowing what this movie was about. Seriously, great movie. Don't forget to watch both post credit scene's. Fun Fact: All of the costumes were bought from the Blade production release

- Kit LazerApril 18, 2025It’s a horror movie about vampires in the American South, 1932, but that’s all just set dressing. It’s such an intoxicating blend of genres, a movie that is a melting pot just like the cultural heritage this movie explores. A lot of times when one actor plays two characters in a movie, it’s neat but the performances suffer, it feels like a gimmick, but Michael B. Jordan is able make Smoke and Stack feel like two distinct, living, breathing people. It’s part crime-thriller, there’s a dash of a coming-of-age story, drama, romance, notes of a musical, it’s a stew packed with spices, and the horror simmers and simmers before coming to a rolling boil, kinda like FROM DUSK TIL DAWN. I would have watched four hours of this. I want more. It’s gorgeous, you’ve gotta see it on the biggest screen possible to appreciate the scope, the aspect ratio changes – the Cinematographer was Autumn Arkapaw, one of far too few women in charge of the camera. The sound track is alive, it’s the main character, the pulse of the movie but the score, by Ludwig Göransson who just won an Oscar for composing OPPENHEIMER and won previously for composing BLACK PANTHER, is the fangs always lurking underneath. There’s so much subtext to sink your teeth into here, the way Coogler brings in Asian immigrants, the Irish, Indigenous People – and makes it a story about all of these hardworking people, the people who bulit the real America just trying to cut loose, be free. What does freedom look like? Drinking deep, playing cards, singing from the gut about things you can’t explain you just know, dancing until you sweat; and sex, desire, can’t forget that, the writhing pulsing primal urges. But the powers that be warn all who have toiled and suffered under the sun all day to make them safe and rich that any who engage in this wanton abandon are SINNERS. They say, "Yes, you’ve worked our fields, yes, you’ve fought our wars overseas but don’t you dare sing and dance and be merry on this land you’ve bled for." Go see Sinners. Trust me, you’ve earned it.
- aaravsingh1915h agobollywood movie with good sound design
- usasand3d agoStory was too weak, action too slow
- DarlingInThePlexxApril 20, 2025This is hands down the best movie I’ve seen in years. I’m not even being dramatic—Sinners connected to me emotionally in a way few movies ever do. The character development? Flawless. The symbolism? Chef’s kiss. The music? Oh my God the music. It’s the kind of soundtrack you don’t just hear—you feel it in your bones. And I’m not even a hardcore blues fan like that. That’s how good it is. I saw Sinners TWICE—and if you’re near a 70mm IMAX screening? Run. It’s absolutely worth it. That one scene with the dancing? Literal goosebumps. Unreal. Some people don’t call this a horror movie, but to me, it’s cultural horror at its finest. Not everyone fears the same things—and Sinners understands that on a level most movies never touch. Michael B. Jordan gave a phenomenal performance, but honestly? The whole cast crushed it. No weak links. Just pure storytelling, heart, and atmosphere. Not seeing Sinners should be illegal, frankly.
- brian65833d agoThe takeaway from the movie is that black folk don't mess around when it comes to vampires. White folk by contrast would be dead within 20 minutes. Great take on the genre.

- bsbt0rre7d agoI enjoyed the movie, but it felt like they needed to go further with it. It almost seems as though there were either scenes removed, or they didn't feel they needed to go further into the story. The costumes and music were great, but I wanted more from the vampire\horror side of things.
- BigRett7d agoFrom the opening scene, I was hooked. Sinners is more than a film, it’s an experience that pulses with life, music, and raw emotion. Ryan Coogler transports us to 1932 Clarksdale, Mississippi, where twin brothers Smoke and Stack Moore (both played brilliantly by Michael B. Jordan) return home to open a juke joint. What begins as a celebration of Black community and music quickly spirals into a supernatural struggle drenched in Southern Gothic atmosphere and vampire lore. Jordan’s dual performance is extraordinary. Two distinct, fully realized characters who pull you into their world. The cinematography is breathtaking, with rich period detail and smoky, neon lit interiors that make you feel like you’re right there in the juke joint. Ludwig Goransson’s score, infused with live blues performances from real musicians, is electric. The music isn’t just background, it’s the beating heart of the film. The film’s themes hit me hard: systemic racism, the resilience of African spirituality, the unifying power of music. Coogler balances horror spectacle with deeply human storytelling, and by the final bloody showdown, I was cheering, horrified, and completely enthralled. Yes, the pacing in the first hour is deliberate, and the narrative is dense, but for me, that just made the payoff more satisfying. Sinners swings for the fences, and it connects hard. If you can, see this in IMAX. Feel the bass in your chest, watch the sweat on the musicians’ brows, and let the story wash over you. This is one of those rare films that will stick in my mind for years to come. Final Verdict: A gutsy, soulful, blood‑pumping triumph. My favourite film of the year.....maybe even the decade.
- Faizel IsmailJuly 28, 2025Absolutely fantastic movie. Beautifully filmed as well.

- matthew68118July 26, 2025Vampires can leap 40 ft in the air but can’t overpower a drunk dude?
- Riley MageeJuly 24, 2025Phenomenal from start to finish, upon a second watch the themes are much more present. During my first viewing I was captured by Coogler's genius directing throughout, but during the second watching I was able to really understand the narrative he was trying to tell and I could see evidence of it right from the start
