- JacksonSeptember 21, 2025Very boring. Unfortunately, I could not grasp the effect it had on others and there wasn't any funny scenes at all. I am trying to get into Buster Keaton, but this movie is not contributing to it. It wasn't for me, but I do appreciate the special effects and the editing for the limited technology of the time. I think the story itself is original and entertaining if rewatched a few times to keep up.
- theLillyPadFebruary 17, 2025I've always preferred Keaton to Chaplin, and think this film is one of his best. Sherlock Jr. is an excellent starter film for anyone looking to get into silent movies: not too long, some special effects that are interesting, and genuinely funny. It isn't the best thing Keaton ever put to screen, but it showcases all there is to love about his style.
