- carter2882March 16, 2026Se7en is an amazing but haunting film. The film has such a cool concept by killing people with the seven deadly sins. The kills themselves are very haunting and terrifying to look at. The characters are very well written and the performances are amazing. The dialogue is incredible. The film contains are very dark and insane twist ending that I love. Overall an absolute masterpiece.
- RichardOctober 19, 2025Saw this one in the cinema when it came out and it left a mark. Not just because of the ending (which still punches like a freight train), but because it felt like a shift in how crime thrillers could look, feel and haunt. Later picked it up on DVD and it’s one of those I revisit when I want atmosphere so thick you could slice it with a box cutter. David Fincher directs with surgical precision, rain-soaked streets, flickering neon and a city that feels like it’s rotting from the inside. Morgan Freeman is the weary intellectual, Brad Pitt the impulsive rookie and Kevin Spacey… well, let’s just say his performance is unforgettable, even if his legacy isn’t. The concept is chilling: a serial killer using the seven deadly sins as a blueprint. Each crime scene is a grotesque tableau, each clue a philosophical jab. The pacing is deliberate, the tension constant and the final act? Iconic. It could’ve become more, a trilogy, a deeper dive into Somerset’s past, or even a spiritual sequel. But maybe it’s better as a standalone. One perfect storm of dread, decay, and despair. I loved the tone, the performances and the way it made adult years feel grim, introspective and cinematically shaken.
