Seal of Saimaa is a story of two brothers in a canoe in search of the Saimaa Ringed Seal in Finland. The brothers had grown up on the shore of Lake Saimaa but had never seen the seal themselves. Their grandfather told stories of how he used to see the seals as a kid, and now the brothers will return to the lake, take a canoe, and head towards the areas where the seals still live. The focus of the documentary is the significance of the seal to the lake, to its inhabitants and to us, the filmmakers.
