Scream VI Ratings & Reviews
- VarunOctober 19, 2024After 5 Scream movies and a tv show, I’m impressed that this part still managed to misdirect me on the killer’s identity and motives. Ghostface is more brutal and menacing than ever before and the action scenes were enjoyable. The New York City vibe is a nice change from the small town vibes of the past movies and the colour tone made it even more cinematic. The main cast is great, the additional cast I found to be a bit weak this time but overall they were decent. I think part 6 is as good as, if not better than the previous film and I’m excited to see how they develop this franchise going forward. Update (22-11-2023): There’s nothing to look forward to as the franchise is dead now that Spyglass decided to fire Melissa Barrera for supporting the basic human rights of Palestinians and Jenna Ortega dropping out. The only hope is if it’s sold to a different company and they get the main cast back together. It took 11 years to bring back and revitalise Scream and Spyglass killed it in one day smh
- cultfilmlikerMarch 10, 2026The “core 4” didn’t last very long, huh (NOT A SPOILER; just a warning about Scream 7) “Hey Siri, call the police” Is that so hard!? The man held up a convenience store with a shotgun for 5 minutes easy. NY is slacking! Love “when the party's over” being in this so much. Also reminder that Billie & Finneas were on Fishcenter on [adult swim] in 2018 +1/4 star for Tim Robinson voice and cloaked Akiva cameo
- Kevin WardJuly 3, 2025My daughter has been dying to see this since it came out, but for some reason it’s just taken us a long time to get to the theater for this one. Had a really good time with her and my oldest son. Feels like they cranked up the violence a bit, which is always a plus for me when it comes to slashers. Several moments had Paisley wincing and squirming in her seat. It’s a one of the more predictable entries in terms of determining who the killer/s are. Still a really good time. As we’re leaving the theater, Paisley says, “So, if one of the rules is that they’ll subvert expectations….that really just means that there’s no rules.” And she’s absolutely right. The new setting is very a welcome change. I wasn’t much a fan of Melissa Barrera’s Sam, in Scream (5), but I thought it worked much better in this. She and Jenna Ortega’s Tara were an excellent tandem here.
- JeremiahMarch 5, 2026In 2023 I watched Scream 1 -5, like one a day in anticipation of watching 6, when I was done with 5 though oh man did I scream myself out. Here we are 3 years later fulfilling that plan finally. The 6th movie in the Scooby Doo series isn’t offering much new than the setting and no Sydney. Of course the Scooby Doo ending gets hammy and theatrical. It was all fine. Watchable. Dependent on how much you like these new characters and they are ok but im not head over heels for any of em, Maybe in 3 years I will watch Scream 7.
- ርልዪረOctober 11, 2025Plot: Following the events of Scream (2022), the surviving characters leave Woodsboro and move to New York City, only to find that Ghostface has followed them. The film follows the group as they try to survive the urban setting while uncovering the new killer’s identity. Strengths: Fresh Setting: Moving the action to New York City adds variety and creative opportunities for kills and suspense. High Stakes: The urban environment increases tension and stakes for the survivors. Blend of Horror & Humor: Maintains the series’ signature self-aware humor while delivering suspenseful moments. Strong Ensemble Cast: Balances returning characters with new faces effectively. Weaknesses: Predictable Twists: Some elements follow familiar franchise patterns, making certain reveals predictable. Pacing: Some sequences drag, slightly reducing tension. Less Original: Relies heavily on franchise nostalgia and prior formulas rather than breaking new ground. Overall: Scream VI is a fun and suspenseful continuation of the franchise. The new setting and mix of old and new characters keep the story engaging, even if it doesn’t fully reinvent the slasher formula. Fans of the series will enjoy the thrills and callbacks.
