Scream 3 Ratings & Reviews
- AjayFebruary 17, 2026Absolutely terrible. It gets far too meta for its own good, and the story gets lost in attempts to make the flick have some comic relief here and there (which isn't done well at all). The twist isn't predictable, but it does come out of nowhere and doesn't have much to do with the plot, let alone any sort of setup. Arguably one of the weakest movies in the Scream franchise, and even more so for movies in general.
- parktool69December 1, 2024they made so many and i watch them all
- NonPlayableContentJanuary 20, 2026Its funny to think this the start of the downturn in quality but still so many people's favorite.
- ZokkiieAugust 11, 2025Pretty disappointing. The suspense was there in theory, but the mystery wasn’t — you could spot the killer from a lightyear away. A couple of fun moments and some decent scares, but mostly felt like it was just going through the motions.
- Kevin WardJuly 2, 2025Assembly Cut Significantly better than the theatrical cut with so much more character moments. Still leaves Angelina off the hook though. Parker Posey let me crack your back, please 🙏
- LivewireAdminDecember 2, 2025I enjoyed the film production aspect of the story this time around. The creators were able to push the meta commentary to it's limits by having Sydney walk through a stage version of her house from the original, which of course was a stage itself. The core characters were all enjoyable again (even though some of their stories get thrown to the wind) and the new additions to the cast were fun, particularly Parker Posey. I mean, how can you not like her? Wasn't a big fan of Sydney being haunted by the ghost of her mother, felt like they were starting to tread into the supernatural category. The villain reveal was okay, it had less impact than the previous two entries. All in all, I think it was a good idea that they took an extended break from the franchise and didn't try and rush out another entry or two in the 00's.
- CybrneticPlagueNovember 9, 2025Scream 3 does quite a bit to further the over arching story of the scream franchise. But it lacks in the suspense of the previous two films and the kills are a lack luster in comparison.
- ርልዪረOctober 9, 2025Plot: Set in Hollywood, the film follows Sidney Prescott as she is drawn into a new series of murders during the production of Stab 3, a movie based on the original Woodsboro killings. Ghostface returns, targeting the cast and crew while a deeper conspiracy about Sidney’s past unfolds. Strengths: Meta Commentary: Satirizes Hollywood and movie-making, keeping the franchise’s self-aware humor intact. Ties to Backstory: Explores more of Sidney’s family history, adding emotional depth. Some Suspenseful Moments: Maintains jump scares and tension in key scenes. Return of Familiar Characters: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette reprise their roles. Weaknesses: Weaker Suspense: Many scares feel formulaic or predictable compared to the first two films. Tone Issues: Humor and campiness often overshadow the horror, reducing tension. Overcomplicated Plot: The Hollywood setting and multiple killers make the story somewhat convoluted. Critical Reception: Considered the weakest of the original trilogy by many critics. Overall: Scream 3 is serviceable but less impactful than the first two films. While it has some clever moments and explores Sidney’s backstory, the Hollywood satire and overcomplicated plot make it feel like a weaker entry. Fans may enjoy it for continuity, but it lacks the suspense and freshness of the originals.
- charliesimon778May 18, 2025I thought this was really good how it showed the three main characters in Hollywood, California. I thought it was amazing how it showed Sydney’s mom as a zombie. Including how it showed new characters every time in every scream movie.
