- รҡ૨אρƭเ∂February 27, 2025The ol' scent of a hoohah!! Lol, now while I do not dislike this film what I am going to say will probably be disliked. This film is overrated. There I said it. Maybe because I feel like this filmed robbed A Few Good Men of the Oscar. I love Pacino but Nicholson earned it better. That is all. 6.3/10 - Sorry, not sorry. *ELABORATION* Did Pacino deserve an Oscar? Without Question. I think the argument can be made (and is) for plenty of other nominations and non-nominations where he was "snubbed." I think that's fair in probably more than one instance. This would have left the Oscars to give the award for no reason other than merit in SOW. Now I'll say something else that might sound rather mainstream. Scarface. Scarface, Scarface, Scarface. Not even a nomination for the entire film and it deserved multiple. But more importantly, I challenge anybody to name a more passionate and phenomenal case of method acting more worthy for an Oscar outside Daniel Day Lewis. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this would have been the 1983 Best Actor Oscar won by Ben Kingsly for Gandhi. Great film but as for the role NOT EVEN CLOSE. This win reeks of virtue signaling but in any case Pacino wasn't even nominated and neither was Scarface for anything. This was the "Best Male Actor" that Pacino was destined for. Tony Montana outclassed the competition 3 fold.
