Salesse

Directed by Geoffrey Chambord
2019    17mDocumentary, Short
One morning a peasant goes out of his house. Listening to something, he seems distracted. With his sickle, he leaves a barn. He begins to clear the back of his garden, still half asleep and sensitive to the noise around. Then he goes to his wood stock where something intrigues him. He tries to move some logs, speaks more and more (still alone) and gets angry. Several times, he pulls up his pants, too big for him. Suddenly, he abandons the wood and leaves with his scythe to cut the grass in another part of the estate. He gets real work done, with diligence and a know-how from another time. The surroundings are revealed; it is a historical estate with several buildings made of stone. First quite sullen, the peasant is finally pleased with his work despite the fatigue. An intertitle clarifies that Adrien lives and works on this estate.
