Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) is a CIA rookie who is manning a safe house in Cape Town, South Africa, when Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) the CIA's most wanted rogue agent is captured and taken to the safe house. During Frost's interrogation, the safe house is overtaken by mercenaries who want Frost. Weston and Frost escape and must stay out of the gunmen's sight until they can get to another safe house.

It’s essentially a 115-minute job interview where the stakes are "death" and the recruiter is a sociopathic rogue agent.
- jackmeatMarch 20, 2025My quick rating - 6.8/10. Well acted as you can expect and a pre-wisecracking Ryan Reynolds. Denzel is great as America's most wanted and plays the part very well. The movie does not let up as a CIA agent is forced into keeping a fugitive alive who has turned himself into custody after being missing for 9 years. Apparently, he has some SERIOUS information on all of the major intelligence organizations around the globe, and everyone wants their hands on him. So when Reynolds is there to keep him alive after a hit on his life, basically every secret group identifiable with letters (CIA, etc.) is out to get them. So who can Reynolds trust? Have to watch the movie to find out, and the only drawback to it is just that question. Oh, don't think I saw this before.
- MR_BigTimeDecember 5, 2025The formula has been used quite often, which leads to predictable turns of events, but the direction and acting were on point here. It may not be the smartest movie ever made, but hey, give me Ryan and Denzel giving life to the dumbest characters shooting their way across town while building rapport any day and you can sign up to that sucker.
