Sacramento Ratings & Reviews
- Alex | Pop Culture BrainJuly 12, 2025Funny, honest, succinct study of becoming a father.
- Kit LazerApril 10, 2025I was having a mild panic attack through much of this movie (unrelated) which was so goddamn funny once I realized what it was about. I burst into tears of catharsis. But also, exhausted tears. If you liked Sideways and A Real Pain, (and like, maybe Swingers), you’ll like this. Just know it’s not as good as any of those. My haters will say I just love everything Kristen Stewart is in. And they’re not wrong.
- Johan PotgieterJune 1, 2025I did enjoy this one. Without giving anything away the two friends are polar opposites. The one worries about everything obsessively and the other doesn't care about much. This road trip helps them both find their way.
- Matthias_812April 2, 2025Wholesome impromptu journey that forces to confront the past and uncertain futures literally and metaphorically. Sacramento presents the complexities of friendship, impending fatherhood, and personal growth. It's been a great minute since I saw Cera in a film like this and with Sacramento he's like the grown up kid from Superbad and Youth in Revolt. It's not stretching the buddy road trip set up but the familiar territory makes this such a heartfelt and wholesome experience. Beneath the laughs, there’s a real examination of friendship, regret, and the struggle to change. Makes you feel a little high on life.
- James TangApril 19, 2025A Real Pain: West Coast edition.
- cultfilmlikerMay 10, 2025Like a lot of young auteurs that act in their own film, Michael Angarano comes off as a little too much too often. I think it’s a part a little too on the nose for these types to keep writing and then portraying. There’s obviously a ton of love behind the camera tho! That wrestling scene felt particularly inspired. I see a lot of Eisenberg and Heidecker in Cera’s performance. Tim is probably going to love this film. Typical understated performance from Kirsten Stewart! Some really good themes of psychoanalysis and being a new parent. Executed quite well! Fun flick!
