A loose rehash of “True Grit”, Wayne returns as the gruff U.S. Marshal, this time partnered with Hepburn’s spirited missionary. The plot is serviceable but familiar, and while it’s not a standout in the genre, it offers an enjoyable ride, especially for fans of either actor looking for a late-career performance.
