This was a great movie. Way better than I thought it would be. The ending isn't something I saw coming at all, I haven't seen one of those in awhile.

My quick rating - 5,5/10. Why such high ratings for a film that is nicely played out with a great pace to it are beyond me (I believe when I reviewed, this was upper 8). With what I am about to say, I am surprised my score is this high. Rossif Sutherland does a good job commanding this movie, as an American surgeon on a stay in Laos who witnesses a rape and intervenes, only to have things go south on him. In doing so, he ends up killing an Australian senator's son and gets fingered as the one who raped the woman. Keep in mind the language barrier so explaining things is most difficult. Throughout the movie, you must keep that in mind. So when questioned, he panics and goes on the run. There is your movie. But this one does well in staying with a more realistic type of approach to it, not something sensational. No jumping off buildings, or massive car chases. Just some incredible scenery due to being filmed on location and being on the run. All of this is well and good, aside from some of the dumbest decisions ever that lead to the end. That is when I threw my hands up and wanted to throw my remote. I can live with them ignoring any and all of the legal battles that must have happened and taking a "is what it is" approach. But then the finale just pissed me off. So watch if you must but brace yourself.
