You won’t get points for originality here, because the beats are exactly what you’d expect. What does work in its favour is execution. Compared to a lot of schlocky stripper-revenge movies, Risqué looks surprisingly good. The production value is higher than expected, the direction has confidence, and despite the cast lacking big-name stars, it never feels like a bargain-bin effort. That alone makes it stand out in a very crowded sub-genre. Visually, it’s loud and vivid. There are plenty of dream sequences, lots of neon-soaked colour, and a pace that barely pauses long enough for you to catch your breath. It doesn’t always let moments settle, but that relentless energy is part of the appeal — it keeps things fun, flashy, and forward-moving. It’s not deep, it’s not subtle, and it’s not trying to be.
