- jackmeat2025年8月5日My quick rating - 3.4/10. For a movie holding some promise, this one fails quite miserably. The little glimpses of some decent storylines kept getting nibbled at, but never did they bother developing any of them. The actors have to be pissed at the outcome since they actually did a pretty good job here. So we have a bad guy who wants to have complete power, and to get it, he must get information out of some dude. For leverage, he takes over a building just to trap the soon-to-be tortured guy's daughter. Here is the beginning of all the plot holes. She doesn't have her memory for some reason to start with. Ok, let's look past them since there are far too many to get into and deal with the women in the elevator. Maybe wonder why she is so important. There is a bit of tease about the woman's sister and how she is linked either in reality or psychologically. Again, plot holes that don't get realized. So when the evil man doesn't get the info he wants, he zips her up and down the elevator to torture her. Oh, and if torture is your thing, it seems like about half this movie (maybe exaggeration) is watching the dad get tortured. Also, at times, she sneaks out of the elevator into the shaft, which I will say looked pretty impressive. I will say the technology part of this elevator was awfully finished for a building that was completely barren minus the elevators. Never worked in a building with such a backward way of finishing it. Goes along with the holes aplenty. All of this leads to an ending that makes no sense, well, in this movie, makes perfect sense, and begs you to want to see a sequel? Because if that was NOT what they were trying to do then the climax is even worse than I am currently judging. Looks good, and if you give it a chance, you might be OK with it if you can tolerate so many things that could've been great being left unsaid.
