アンブレラ社の地下秘密研究所「ハイブ」でのバイオハザード発生から2日後、その真上にあるラクーンシティでは住民達がいつもと変わらぬ日常を送っていた。しかし、ハイブで起きた事件を調査すべく派遣されたアンブレラ社の社員が封鎖された地下入り口を開けると、高濃度のウイルス反応が検知され調査隊は内部から出てきたクリーチャーによって襲われてしまう。その結果、ウイルスによる汚染が街にまで蔓延し人々は次々と感染してゾンビ化、街中で人を襲い始めてアンデッド達が溢れ出し、壊滅状態になった。事件の隠蔽を図るアンブレラ社はラクーンシティを封鎖する。

- Niztradamus2026年3月26日The action, great. The sound, bombastic. The story fine. BUT for a real RE fan this is the point where they have ditched the canon completely and made it worse. I won't go into details but one minor flaw, even most fans get wrong, IT WAS NOT A NUCLEAR BOMB that they dropped on Racoon City. It was a thermobaric bomb. Nemesis is all wrong. Jill, while cool, isn't our Jill and so on. Still a fun ride but I remember now why I, as a fan of the games, stopped watching after this one.

Captain Miller wrestled with cosmic damnation while Jill Valentine wrestles with bad dialogue, and Nemesis, meant to be terrifying, has all the menace of a clunky fridge compared to the raw, soul-ripping terror of the gravity drive. Where Event Horizon made hell feel personal, Apocalypse just makes it feel like Tuesday in a bad video game adaptation.

Overall, "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" is serviceable for fans who want mindless fun, but it's far from a standout. A decent watch, but nothing more than a 6/10.
