ヒュー・ジャックマンが記憶に潜入するエージェントに扮したSFサスペンス大作。「インターステラー」「ダークナイト」などクリストファー・ノーラン作品で脚本を担当してきた、クリストファー・ノーランの弟ジョナサン・ノーランが製作を手がけ、ジョナサンの妻でテレビシリーズ「ウエストワールド」のクリエイターとして知られるリサ・ジョイがメガホンをとった。多くの都市が水没して水に覆われた世界。記憶に潜入し、その記憶を時空間映像として再現する「記憶潜入（レミニセンス）エージェント」のニックに、検察からある仕事が舞い込む。それは、瀕死の状態で発見された新興勢力のギャング組織の男の記憶に潜入し、組織の正体と目的をつかむというものだった。男の記憶から映し出された、事件の鍵を握るメイという名の女性を追うことになったニックは、次々とレミニセンスを繰り返していく。しかし、膨大な記憶と映像に翻弄され、やがて予測もしなかった陰謀に巻き込まれていく。「グレイテスト・ショーマン」でもジャックマンと共演したレベッカ・ファーガソン、「ウエストワールド」のタンディ・ニュートンらが脇を固める。

- Jeremey2025年4月29日People hated Reminiscence for being too noir, too slow, too moody. And yet... that’s exactly what made me love it. It's like someone fed Inception, Blade Runner, and a sad Hugh Jackman into a sensory deprivation tank and whispered, “Tell me about your trauma.” The plot? Honestly, it doesn’t matter. This isn't about where you're going — it’s about where you’ve already been, and then diving back into it with monologues so drenched in atmosphere they might actually rust. But here’s the twist: it hits the same sweet spot as Battleship. Not because it’s dumb — but because it doesn’t overexplain. It just vibes. You’ve got a grid-based tech system, a veteran leading the charge, and enough watery visuals to make Kevin Costner nod in approval. Only this time, instead of "Fire B-7!", it’s “Relive that heartbreak... again... in slow motion.” Is it perfect? Nope. But it’s got style, it’s got heart, and sometimes that’s all I need — just like memory itself. Glitchy. Foggy. But weirdly comforting.
- jackmeat2025年8月6日My quick rating - 6.8/10. Excellent vision of what will become of Miami. The way the mystery is pieced together from people's memories reminds me of how it was done in Strange Days. Much tamer movie, though. Still such a good all-around flick. In this sci-fi noir mystery, Hugh Jackman is the "doc" who helps people relive their memories through a technological advancement, which I am sure we shall be seeing at some point in our future. In doing so, he is able to log their memories onto disk (which they use glass drives in the movie, and those exist NOW, many movies are being archived on them as you read this). Well, when a woman (Rebecca Ferguson) strolls into the office, more like floats in as my reference of what Miami has become, he is immediately taken by her. Their on-screen chemistry really helps this flick work. I would also be remiss to not mention a great supporting job done by Thandiwe Newton as Jackman's assistant at the memory clinic (they never gave it a name that I caught). So that would be all fine and dandy, but there has to be some reason this woman graced him with his presence. This is where the mystery lies when their romance ends abruptly when Mae (Ferguson) vanishes. Bannister ( Jackman) is hell-bent on finding her, which leads him deep into this new yet under-explained vision of Miami in a classic noir-type tale. I do mention the setting since it was kind of strange, but there is nearly no mention as to why it is like this. The action is used merely when needed and not focused on like most popcorn flicks. Basically, because this isn't one of those, this one does force you to think so the release date is a bit suspect. All the elements for a true classic were here, just not fully achieved. But if you put those flaws aside, you will be left with one of the better flix to come out this year. And yes, the comparisons kept hitting me between Strange Days so if you are a huge fan of that movie, as I am, you will enjoy this movie and also might be a bit peeved at the same time. It does enough to be different while remaining very similar.
