Reign of Fire Ratings & Reviews
- TheGozerian13 July 2025Pretty awesome even if the premise is a bit silly
- jason677621 April 2025Great movie!
- Doc Worm12 January 2026Dragon apocalypse is a pretty fucking cool premise. Shot in the hills of Ireland with a stacked cast- it does enough to elevate the middling script and dated CGI. While it certainly doesn’t reach quite the heights the concept promises it does a pretty good job of investing you in its high concept world.
- Dan S Turpin3 January 2026Fun genre pictures of a quality they dont make anymore. Big budget, good cast, (except Bale- he's a hammy prick!)
- runinhot3 days agoThis one's still so HOTTT!!!?
- Rockcranky14 August 2025Great movie. Lost of stars in earlier roles. Lots of action.
- Kurtis000618 March 2026Great movie, extremely well thought out lore and plot. Not to mention two titan actors getting into their prime.
- clatsch0120 July 2025Do you want to watch Matthew McConaughey do his best Christian Bale Batman impression on front of Christian Bale. Oh and they fight some dragons!
- Kraine Opasen20 June 2025“Dragons, dystopia, and damn good acting — a hidden gem of fantasy cinema.” Reign of Fire deserved so much more than its quiet run in theaters. This is a bold, gritty, and surprisingly intense blend of post-apocalyptic action and high fantasy, where dragons rule the skies and humans fight for survival beneath the ashes. Christian Bale leads with gravitas and grit, while Matthew McConaughey goes full berserker as a shaved-headed, axe-swinging dragon slayer from the American military — yes, it’s as awesome as it sounds. Their clash of wills is just as fierce as the battle with fire-breathing monsters. The world-building is grounded and believable, the tension never lets up, and the dragons? Terrifyingly majestic — some of the best designs ever put on screen. It’s dark, desperate, and far better than it was ever given credit for. An underrated cult classic that still burns bright.
- 5amurai5amson18 December 2025Dragons. Explosions. Violence. Nostalgia. Buff/bald Lincoln guy. Batman. Winner on all the metrics that count.
- Scott Suaso30 November 2025Awful movie. Just atrociously bad. Terrible script, horrendous editing - it feels like the studio shut down filming halfway through and someone cobbled together what they could. The only bright spot is Matthew McCounahay's character, which is well acted.
- Daniel Taylor25 November 2025I really enjoy this movie. It’s not perfect, but it’s a bloody fun ride. The mix of post-apocalyptic chaos and dragon action still holds up, and the atmosphere is unreal. The cast goes hard, the world feels gritty without being over the top, and the whole thing is just entertaining from start to finish. Easily one of my go-to movies when I want something different and epic.
- Do_die_do21 November 2025An epic movie, great sets and worlds. Slightly weak on selling the plot
- JoshuaW4 September 2025A must see. I’ve seen it over a dozen times thru the years. Still gets me pumped. #MathewMcConaughey and #ChristianBale were great together. Can’t forget about #GerardButler. Great CGI on the Dragons.
