I went in expecting a standard biopic, but what I got was something much deeper. Whether you agree with all his politics or not, this film makes it clear why he was such an important and fascinating figure in American history. The movie covers a lot of ground. You can tell he took the role seriously and wanted to get it right. There is a calm strength in his portrayal that pulls you in. It does not feel like someone pretending to be Reagan.
