Prometheus Ratings & Reviews
- AGENTROCKSTARDecember 4, 2025The Alien franchise is always excellent - a definite repeat watch. Add to your collection.
- protowiccanApril 24, 2025Prometheus is a visually striking film, but a completely infuriating mess to watch. We are supposed to believe these people are some of humanities greatest minds, but most of them act so unbelievably incompetent I have difficulties believing they could go to the bathroom unsupervised.
- jackmeatJanuary 27, 2025My quick rating - 7.5/10. This is an excellent sci-fi flick. Interesting way to start a review, eh? It looks spectacular visually and in terms of editing. The story itself is unique (I believe it was a comic book at some point) but either way, the plot will draw you in. Noomi Rapace does an excellent job in the lead, but no surprise there, she is a great actress. I did find the other characters a tad bit irritating aside from the Captain. Charlize Theron was used sparingly so not much to say (I read she was also considered for the lead). The action scenes are paced nicely and are used when needed but not overdone. When the action scenes were used, they were filmed so well even with the mix of CGI but I almost didn't even notice, well, almost lol. The obvious influence of the late H.R. Giger was also a nice touch, giving homage to the great artwork he graced us with. At 2 hours long, I was hard-pressed to even notice how long it was since I was that into the film. One way to end this short blurb is I am looking forward to the sequel which is coming in 2017. I believe any sci-fi fan would agree and will be looking forward to it as well. Non-sci-fi fans most likely will appreciate an interesting story and well-made movie so my final thought, see it.

- frankpanduhOctober 29, 2025Michael Fassbender is was rad in this one.
- Andy LeeSeptember 26, 2025The writers are either stupid themselves or think that YOU are extremely stupid, or maybe some combination of the two.
- John ShadelJune 26, 2025Easily the best of all the Alien movies. It's a must see.
- AdamSeptember 15, 2025Alternate Titles: Alien (Ridley Scott Remix) We Ain't Got No (Standard Operating Procedures) What Second Law of Thermodynamics? How Many Times Do I Have to Say "Don't Touch It!"?
- marshalseaAugust 23, 2025Stupid People Do Stupid Things In Space and Die! It starts with bbq James Franco, and turns out my gut instinct about him being a weasel was right. Well done aholedar. So all in all good start to a film If it wasn't an Alien film it would be better, but it is... And it fails. Not as badly as Alien Covenant, which was truly awful: Stupid People Do Even More Stupider Things In Space and Die. Another film, like AC where the actors and sets aren't to blame, in fact look amazing. It's another where the story sucks donkey ahole. Lindelhof's continued "Wouldn't it be cool if..." ruins what was a serviceable script by Spaights. (Go read the original it's not bad - bit Star Gate naff in places but hey ho.). Has he been removed from the pool yet?
- cultfilmlikerAugust 20, 2025Too much Christianity lol Gorgeous looking film. Pretty sick 4K CGI I say that with heart and as a joke. That big Fassbender scene is both mad impressive and also super cheesy and hilarious imo Liked the cast! Solid sci-fi horror! Fitting for the franchise lol kinda excited to watch Alien: Earth
- El JefeAugust 17, 2025IMHO ... Best Alien movie 🍿 of them all. HUGE ideas, revelations, plot twists, excellent production values big sets, excellent soundtrack, top actors. I still hope one day we can find out how it all goes back to Space Jockey.
- StairwaytothestarsAugust 4, 2025The cinematography of the movie is visually stunning, and the Prometheus Starship itself is remarkable! Extremely atmospheric with great acting and some offbeat humor in this spectacular science fiction movie. Unfortunately, great science fictions are hard to come by because they are very expensive to make. Bravo to Ridley Scott once again!
- Daniel TaylorAugust 2, 2025I really enjoyed Prometheus. It’s such an interesting way to dive into the beginnings of the Alien franchise. The story sets up so many questions and connections to the other movies that it makes you want to dig deeper into the lore. You can’t deny it leaves you wishing for more answers—especially about the links to the original alien planet.
- ርልዪረFebruary 7, 2025... It's not a Prequel. It's a new film in the Alien universe with a separate storyline. I was disappointed it did not show a back story to Alien 1979 but also pleased that Ridley produced a sci-fi masterclass. A simple script that barely juggled big topics but it was good enough for a theatrical release. I suspect Fox had a hand with it being different from Alien, but Ridley in conferences held for Prometheus did say it is not a Prequel. That said a lot of ignorant Alien fans continued to dream stubbornly for a Alien prequel and got a big shock on June first 2012.
- Brad.Plex.October 13, 2024The return of Ridley Scott to the Alien franchise was supposed to herald a return to greatness for the franchise but instead falls flat. While the visuals are stunning, the plot and characters are some of the most non-sensical in the series.
