At a time when France has just adopted Christiane Taubira's penal reform aimed at creating a new sentence in an open environment, a fascinating investigation in four countries on the experiments carried out in this direction. Overcrowded prisons, omni-surveillance, recidivism for the prospect: prisoners often do not have the means to prepare for their reintegration into the free world. Yet in Finland, Germany and Switzerland, nearly a quarter of them finish their sentence in a semi-open environment.
