Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Ratings & Reviews
- Michael MorelliJune 6, 2025I think one of the reasons this has polarizing reviews is the fact that, in order to truly enjoy it, you have to be a major fan of Pride & Prejudice AND Zombies - like myself. I think this movie only appeals to those in that little sliver in the middle of that Venn diagram. It is EXACTLY P&P with the same plot, characters, relationships, conversations, etc., just WITH zombies. They did not change one thing about the plot here, except for the one big one, so if you don't like Jane Austin and eating brains, you won't like this movie. I think, it's a really fun way to put new life into an old classic. I think many people might've been swayed to read the original after seeing this. My only gripe; however, is the old and kind of racist "Eastern-mystic" angle - the use of Asia as a mystic wealth of knowledge for the benefit of white people without actually exploring their culture - the obviously dubbed Japanese and Mandarin was particularly cringe-worthy and wholly unnecessary.
- RyezooFebruary 20, 2025For a movie with the word Zombies in the title they probably make up about 18 mins of screen time. To break down this film simply I'll just use pros and cons. Pros: - Matt Smith is hilariously used in the film - Zombies when seen look pretty awesome Cons: - Most humor falls flat - All the Pride and Prejudice type scenes are boring. There are 3 characters that they try to flesh out and give them some sort of background as simplistic as it may be. The lead actress Lily James plays Elizabeth Bennet who is the oldest of her four fighting sisters, gets most of the workload. Her sister Jane is far less superior when in terms of plot. Especially with the week tease/fade to black with her character earlier in this film. There lovers are annoying, especially the dude that sounds like Batman. (Mr. Darcy) - The bridge scene is laughable - Logic is thrown out the window for the zombies if your riding on a horse - Ending is completely robbed from the viewer. Do they really think they'll have a sequel? That very last scene should have been the beginning of the third act. - Poor writing So in all pretty terrible movie
- Ricardo BothaMay 18, 2025Austen’s classic meets zombie mayhem in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and it’s an absolute riot! The clever mashup of romance, wit, and undead action makes this one-of-a-kind film so much fun to watch. Even my wife, was hooked and loved it. A masterpiece for its sheer originality and entertainment value!
- Me MeMarch 18, 2025How to remain virtuous yet stay alive during a zombie plague. Sexual tension with rip roaring blood and guts. I'm still watching for another remix. Maybe 'Zombie Heads Gone with the Wind'
- Scott SmithFebruary 10, 2025The mashup I didn't know I needed. A fun and witty Victorian period piece that looks great and is well acted, along with some zombie apocalypse horror fun. A good popcorn movie, if you like either of those ideas.
