The film consists of 4 short stories: "The Wedding March" - A non-classical love triangle: the father is a film director, the son is a student, the father's mistress is also the son's bride. "Exercise No. 5" - A movie is being made. The group is waiting for the weather. Someone drinks coffee, someone tries to rehearse, someone solves personal problems or indulges in adultery. And all this is watched dispassionately by a camera that they forgot to turn off. "Trofim" - Ordinary Russian history. The man became jealous of his wife and brother, killed him with an ax and went on the run to the capital city of St. Petersburg. Then they took him - lukewarm - in a brothel. "The Road" - Two refugees wander through the capital's train stations: she sings Russian songs, he is the organizer and accompanist. In addition to casual listeners, one of the "new Russians" listens to them.
