LAPD lieutenant Mike Harrigan and his cocky detective partner Jerry Lambert soon realize that what seemed a bloody feud between voodoo high priest King Willie's Jamaican gangs and Ramon Vega's Colombian drug gang is actually the work of a scary third party. Peter Keyes's federal team shields the crime scene even for the LAPD, but after forensics proves it must be an alien, who keeps making victims, the chase brings them all together.

Predator 2 Ratings & Reviews

I will never understand any level of hate for this movie. It is the perfect follow-up to the 1987 original and is arguably the most important piece in all of Predator lore.

Bloody awesome. Anyone who says otherwise isn't a true Predator fan. Excellent characters, some awesome one liners too!

The three stars are for the hilarious premise of this movie & Danny Glover. I don’t know what else is going on.

    Old but good

Underrated follow up that does way more than people give it credit for. Swaps the jungle for a chaotic, heat soaked L.A. and somehow makes it work. Danny Glover’s not Arnie, but he brings his own grit and watching him go toe to toe with the Predator feels earned. The lore expands, the kills are brutal and the final act delivers. That trophy room scene? Legendary. It’s louder, messier and darker than the first, but it’s got teeth. Definitely deserves a better reputation.

Murtaugh ain’t too old to kick Yautja ass. This one just goes all in — loud, chaotic, and completely over the top, but kinda enjoyable because it doesn’t hold back. It’s not as tight or tense, and yeah, it gets pretty ridiculous, but there’s a gritty vibe and some cool ideas that keep it interesting. Messy for sure, but still has enough attitude and memorable moments to make it a fun watch.

Not comparable to the first but still enjoyable. It remains a cult.

Badass follow-up to the original. I can remember watching the ending scene when I was a kid and thinking how cool it was. Oh and Bill Paxton is hilarious as always.

We wanted more and more we have got. But we wanted the same energy and feelings from the first movie. We get something similar, but not as good. Let's face it, the studio had seen the positive response from the Dark Horse Comics on this theme, and had tried to make movie out of it. But they missed the crucial part: if you don't have a good story, you can't expect to surpass or get the same result as the first movie. Predator 1 doesn't have a super good story, the had good action, good cast and good characters. If you read/watch the behind the scenes you will discover the Arnold was suppose to be the main character and that they had built the script for him. And they had tried to adapt the Dark Horse story before it was finished. So yeah, a lot of problems. BUT it's not pure trash. I had enjoyed the movie. It's not great, I feel something is missing but I was happy to see our yautja hunter at work (PS: the name of the species comes from comics)

The Predator is back and this time, its hunting in a different Jungle, its hunting in a Concrete Jungle known as Los Angeles, set 10 years after the first film, a new Predator has arrived and begins hunting new prey. The movie is set in 1997, where Los Angeles is plague with Gang Wars switch include the Colombians and the Voodoo Jamicians and the Police are doing everything they can stop these Gang Wars until the Predator and starts killing many Gangsters. Lt. Michael Harrigan played by Lethal Weapon's Danny Glover, a John Wayne and Dirty Harry like cop is called in to deal with the Predator when it (spoiler alert) kills his Partner. Also, the Feds come in led by Special Agent Peter keyes who claims he's here to take care of the Jamicians, but there's more to this guy then meets the Eye. Now Harrigan must stop the Predator before it turns Los Angeles into its new hunting ground. I first saw this on TV, a long time ago until I finally got it on DVD, its also the most violent and darkest predator film. The movie also features Bill Paxton as Jerry Lambert and a possible Ancestor to Hudson from "Aliens", License to Kill's Robert Davi as Captain Heinhemann, Full Metal Jacket's Adam Baldwin as Gruber, Keyes' second in Command and Kevin Peter Hall in one of his last roles before his death in 1991. Although he doesn't appeared, Arnold is briefly mention as the events of the first film are mention. Before I end my review, there's one thing you should know, a Xenomorph Skull is briefly seen on the Predator Ship, prove that Alien and Predator are set in the same universe. This is also the first Predator Movie I have ever sent and this is very important to everyone.

The first 3-quarters of this movie is what a middle-schooler thinks Predator 1 was all about. It's like the director kept shouting "MORE! MORE! MORE!" to the actors until their performances were absurd and over-the-top. The same can be said for the gore, language, and vibe. This is an R-rated franchise, but this is a child's idea of maturity. Much of this movie ought to have been cut. The Jamaican Gang and Men in Black-style government suites are loony and weird and their purpose could have easily been served better by a more down-to-earth gangs/government agents. That being said, the Predator himself manages to maintain his drip for the entire film despite the nonsense. Watching him walk through the water with semi-invisibility, take down gangs, or heal himself was awesome. Also, a full star has been added because the premise of the movie (Predator, but in a city) is finally delivered on in spectacular fashion in the last 25 minutes. Honestly, just skip to that and you'll have a good time.

There's an interesting premise with the predator in a city, but this film is an okay mess that doesn't live up to the first film.

Predator 2 (1990) had big shoes to fill after the original, and for fans familiar with the Dark Horse comic sequel, the film can feel like a mixed experience. It delivers plenty of strengths—great practical effects, brutal gore, and intense action that expands the Predator’s mythology in exciting ways. The urban jungle setting is a bold shift, offering a fresh backdrop for the creature’s hunt, even if its vision of “future 1997” feels wildly unrealistic now. However, the dialogue often feels clunky, and some casting choices don’t quite land, creating moments that pull you out of the story. Much of this stems from the film drifting too far from the tone and direction of the source material, likely shaped by Hollywood’s push for broader appeal. Still, the movie has its charms, and its ambition to evolve the franchise is admirable. Predator 2 remains an entertaining, if uneven, follow‑up.

Okay. Early '90s comical fun with a memorable cast.
