At times, the film feels like a collection of SNL-style micro-sketches - some landing better than others - but despite this unevenness and loose structure, it ultimately comes together into a fairly coherent story about ego, the need for attention, and a world where image matters more than anything else. I liked the cameos, of which there are an absurd number, and they often steal the scene even when they only appear briefly. The humor is often crude, and the film deliberately leans into a constant barrage of jokes. Not all of them land, but the pace and volume make it easy to eventually give in and go with the flow. The plot takes a back seat, but the whole thing doesn’t fall apart, held together by a simple satirical frame. The film has a joyful, absurd energy that ultimately won me over, leaving me with a feeling of pleasantly silly stupidity, despite which I didn’t regret the time spent watching it.
