- Arthas MenethilApril 27, 2026Pocketful of Miracles (1961), It was Frank Capra’s final feature film and a direct remake of his own (1933) movie, Lady for a Day. Both films are based on the (1929) short story "Madame La Gimp" by Damon Runyon. It also marked Frank Capra's final film in an incredible career. The original was shot in Black & White with a shorter runtime and boasted a faster punchier pace typical of 1930's comedies while the remake leaned more heavily into that comedic sentimental "Capra-Esque" style, filmed in Technicolor and Panavision. While not the Creme Dela Creme of Capra films a pearl is still a Pearl when it's Capra. Also I believe this film marks the debut of actress Ann-Margret.
