- James LambApril 15, 2025Wow watching this made me really appreciate how lucky we were to have the Creator of SpongeBob direct the first movie and really capture the everything the show was supposed to be. RIP Steven Hildenburg. You would have hated this.

- Manuel FrangisMarch 9, 2025I just watched The Plankton Movie and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie surprised me in the best way. I didn’t expect to feel so many emotions watching a story about Plankton, but The Plankton Movie pulled it off with heart, humor, and depth that goes far beyond what you’d think a SpongeBob spin-off could do. This isn’t just a silly cartoon — it’s a story about rejection, ambition, loneliness, and what it really means to be seen. From the opening scene, you can tell this is Plankton’s world now. The animation is absolutely gorgeous — bold colors, expressive character design, and a cinematic feel that elevates the underwater city of Bikini Bottom into something epic. The way the camera moves during action scenes and quiet moments alike gave it real weight. It doesn’t feel like just another SpongeBob episode. It feels like a real movie — one with something to say. Plankton’s journey is deeply personal. At first, it looks like the usual: trying to steal the Krabby Patty formula. But then the movie slowly peels back the layers. You see the pressure he puts on himself, the ache of always being the loser, and the quiet desperation that’s been inside him since day one. He wants power, but more than that, he wants purpose. He wants love. He wants respect. And honestly? Who hasn’t felt that way before? What blew me away most was the way the movie explored his relationship with Karen. It gave Karen more screen time and more soul than ever before. Their scenes together were some of the most touching, especially when the stakes got high and Plankton had to choose between domination and the people (well, robots and plankton) he cares about. I never thought I’d tear up over a scene between Plankton and Karen, but here we are. The voice acting is pitch-perfect. Mr. Lawrence gives Plankton more range than he ever has — we hear rage, we hear doubt, and we even hear hope. The supporting cast is just as good, with SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs, and even Squidward playing meaningful roles. But make no mistake, this is Plankton’s movie. And he earns every second of it. The music was a surprise highlight too. There’s a mix of energetic songs, emotional cues, and even one villain-style musical number that’s already stuck in my head. It fits the tone perfectly — wacky but sincere. By the end, I felt like I understood Plankton in a way I never had before. It doesn’t excuse everything he’s done, but it makes you see the whole picture. That’s what great storytelling does — it makes you care. And I cared deeply. The Plankton Movie isn’t just a win for fans — it’s a triumph of character-driven animation. It proves that even the smallest, most overlooked character can have the biggest story. If you’ve ever felt like the underdog or wanted a second chance to prove yourself, this one will hit you right in the heart. It’s funny. It’s emotional. And it’s unforgettable.
- COCOMarch 18, 2025Maybe I’m old-school but I enjoyed this franchise more when it was self contained and more simple. Now it feels like we get a featured film for every single character in the show. Next up: The Mr. Krabs Movie
