Ai can’t replace this or well movies in general. Ai is the solution only when you’ve run out of ideas and become lazy! Bring back real world movie productions and folks that are actually funny. When I first saw Planes, Trains and Automobiles at 15 with my cousins, it felt like one of the funniest things I had ever seen — pure chaos and comedy. But at that age, I didn’t grasp its emotional depth. Watching it every Thanksgiving over the years, I’ve realized how perfectly it balances absurd humor and genuine heart. It’s silly — the motel bed-sharing scene, the car rental meltdown, the bus ride — yet profoundly human when you discover Del’s story and see Neal’s transformation from frustration to empathy. What started as a hilarious road-trip movie has become something deeply moving. It’s about connection, loss, and the messy, beautiful ways people find grace in each other. The older I get, the more this film makes sense — it’s still laugh-out-loud funny, but it’s also quietly perfect.
