Theatrical version of the myth of Theseus and Phaedra. The protagonist, first kidnapped and later transformed into queen of Athens and wife of Thésée, hero of heroes, confesses to her nurse Œnone the passion she experiences for Hippolyte, her stepson, during the absence of her husband, where his whereabouts are unknown. This love of hers shames her to the point of seeing suicide as the only solution.
