The opening, which seems to be many people’s favorite part, is almost entirely in the trailer which I had already seen in theaters. Just a note! Why was the horn stuck on when nobody was in the seat but not when the dude’s head was pressed against the steering wheel?? lol Very smart idea to stop and get out there at the end lol The plot and scares were egregiously predictable at points but the use of a projector as a flashlight was ingenuous so it almost evens out I think Andre liked Sinners a tiny bit too much. Also I think I don’t like happy endings anymore I realized I had fun and so did the audience so I can’t complain TOO much Watched at Warren Regal 21 Currently Ranked #42/80 in 2026 Ranked
- Josh C1 dag sidenThis had been on my radar for quite a while and I was pretty excited to watch when it came out. It was a great movie that really packs a punch! A well put together thriller/horror movie that delivered gore, blood, jump scares, a little supernatural, eerie atmosphere and a well told story. The production, acting and directing were all top notch. Definitely one of my top fave horror films of 2026!

I found myself detached from the story a few times, needing to rewind and watch again. I liked the concept though the concept nagged at me like I saw it before. What was that movie where the dead spirit on the highway was like “thanks for the ride, lady!”… or was it “I saw what you did last summer?”… dead horror highway ghosts is a genre for sure. This did its job. Minor plot stupidity but all films get lazy. Don’t watch this analyzing anything cause you’ll only get mad.

The entire road trip represents the emotional road to commitment, and every unsettling encounter along the way embodies the fears, compromises, and hidden horrors that accompany it. This interpretation is reinforced by the ending: the road literally concludes at a church, where marriage awaits. In that context, the mysterious passenger becomes more than a ghostly presence she/he can be seen as every disturbing third person encountered along the journey & the outside influences and complications that inevitably enter a relationship. It’s an amusing yet surprisingly coherent reading that transforms the film into a dark allegory about the anxieties of married life.
- Doc Worm1 dag sidenGirl... Maybe van life just isn't for you. A promising setup falls apart in its execution. Had me thinking- Can't believe they didn't just keep driving. Can't believe a ghost haunted their dashcam. Can't believe a ghost haunted the apples. The amount of unnecessary jumpscares is just getting ridiculous at this point. Can't believe a ghost just haunted the ipad. I noticed that they passed the RR Diner. Maybe its just Bob thats haunting them?! Beyond a single Twin Peaks reference, there is almost nothing of note here. Unlikable leads, uninteresting plot, flatly shot, poor editing, and bare bones audio. Passenger is a DUD.
- corradodalco2 dage sidenIt attempts to build tension using a simple yet effective concept, but quickly gets bogged down by the usual clichés of modern horror. The atmosphere is more compelling than the scares—which are almost always predictable—while the lack of character development makes it hard to truly engage with the story. André Øvredal directs with professionalism but lacks the boldness or inspiration needed to leave a lasting impression. Ultimately, it is a decent horror film: easy to watch, but just as easily forgotten.
