- klit75November 23, 2025If you like movies like this Id imagine itd be a good way to fill 2 hours. It's a very familiar scenario -- man with a good heart makes a mistake and pays the price. Forms unlikely bond with a boy who for different reasons is also struggling to be accepted...you literally know the rest That said it's not poorly acted and fairly well executed. Justin Timberlake isnt a bad choice for this role.

Justin Timberlake stars as Palmer, a man who is just getting out of prison and trying to rebuild his life in a small town. He moves back in with his grandmother and is just trying to keep a low profile. He has been through a lot, and he carries that weight in every scene. Timberlake gives a quiet, restrained performance that really works. He plays Palmer like someone who has been hurt and is still figuring out who he is supposed to be now. What really makes the movie special is the bond that forms between Palmer and a young boy named Sam, played by Ryder Allen. Sam is a unique kid. He loves princesses, wears what he wants, and has no interest in changing who he is. But because of things going on at home, he ends up needing someone to look out for him. That is where Palmer steps in, and what starts as something temporary becomes something so much deeper. The chemistry between Timberlake and Allen is incredible. Their scenes together feel real.
