- thomasrogers7533d agoSolid inflight film and seagel and weaving are very good in the leads but the story itself isn’t anything crazy and I wanted it to be a lot funnier. Onto Rome.
- dylan reardon6d agoFun concept, quite a good movie either some standout moments from Samara, Juliette snd Timothy too. I like Jason but for some reason I didn’t love him in this but he still did a great job! I thought it dragged on slightly but still enjoyed it

Positives: - The entire cast is having a blast and does a good job - The premise alone is very intriguing - The movie has some unexpected twists and turns along the way - The trailer sells you on this premise that you get for the first little bit before it becomes something else - The gore and kills are brutal - The film is also pretty funny Negatives: - The movie does get a little too weird and gross for my likings - The film also can get really ridiculous and stupid at some points Overall Over Your Dead Body is a fun time that I do recommend to horror or comedy fans.

- Doc WormAugust 12, 2026Jorma Taccone does dramedy with a solid effort. Great job setting everything up and even has a fairly decent narrative tool. The final act is kind of weak but it’s a great ride there. Comedy bits are excellent throughout and most of the character drama works, particularly the chemistry between Samara Weaving and Jason Segal. Pretty important given they’re the leads. Action bits were a lot of fun too!

I’ll say it again, Samira just knows what she is doing when it comes to campy thriller/comedies. The casting was brilliant overall, if you’re a fan of “the Babysitter”, “Tucker and Dale vs evil” or “Ready or Not” then this movie should be added to your watch list. Bonus points for Australian accents and an appropriate use of the word “Gronk” as an insult.

- Ilmin88August 3, 2026The acting is great. No one seems to be phoning it in and there is some clever foreshadowing in the beginnig. That's the biggest compliment I can give this movie. The pacing is weird, the comedy does not land and it is all because of bad writing. I chuckled 3 times total. Very serious and not funny things are played for laughs, which does not work and feels icky. The movie had a good cast, a good idea and good bones. Sadly the rest did not live up to it's potential.
