Story of a young woman, Mrs. McBain, who moves from New Orleans to frontier Utah, on the very edge of the American West. She arrives to find her new husband and family slaughtered, but by whom? The prime suspect, coffee-lover Cheyenne, befriends her and offers to go after the real killer, assassin gang leader Frank, in her honor. He is accompanied by Harmonica, a man already on a quest to get even.

Every single moment of this movie is like a painting.

Very long. I love all of Clint Eastwood’s spaghetti westerns. I love Charles Bronson. Nevertheless, this was a little slow and long for me. Without being a spoiler, the end where you find out Bronson’s purpose, is the best part of the movie, but you have to watch the whole to get the impact.

This is an absolutely stunning movie, the score, the characters, the cinematography, and the underlying tone. No wonder people can't stop talking about.

A genuine faultless film. Leone's best work, which is quite the statement - another pointing out power/money/corporate greed really is the only evil in the world, and never fails to go away. There's so much written about this film there's really not much point saying anything more. If you complain about the opening scene being slow - YOU missed the point: it's genuinely one of the most perfect bits of cinema committed.

This is marvelous. I have started to fall in love with Sergio's cinematic style of slow motion film making. Giving character breath with silence and expression rather than just dialogue. Love it.

Sergio Leone's Magna Opus. A deeper plot than in any of his other westerns, interesting, layered characters, a noble ideal or two and a soundtrack that is... Well, as perfect as every other one by Ennio Morricone. If ever a person should have lived forever... Anyways, the photography is inspired as is the edition. There are breathtaking shots that remind us how much beauty there is around us and how we squander it. The actors are put in roles that are not usual for them and they display their talent with relish. The final showdown could have easily had Samurai instead of Gunslingers. Introspective, exciting. Watch it and enjoy cinema at its best.

I could go on for hours with why I love this movie, but to put it simply: everything about it is amazing. Perfectly executed, filmed, casted, and scored. You'll never find a western out there with a meatier story than this one, and it's such a mood. My all-time favorite western, and Top 5 favorite film ever!
