Where to Watch Omen IV: The Awakening
- MrTrivetFebruary 2, 2026The fourth Omen feels like a completely bland and cheap production, as if it was made more out of a need to revive the series than from any real idea for continuing the story. What drove me up the wall was the absurd soundscape, with the filmmakers constantly forcing emotions onto every scene in a heavy-handed way, practically treating the viewer like an idiot. Many years passed between the original The Omen trilogy and this entry, and it clearly shows in the way the film is shot and produced. Unfortunately, the change in style works against it - rather than the heavy, ominous atmosphere of the originals, we get a flat, television-like aesthetic that lacks any real character. The whole thing feels a bit like the later Home Alone spin-offs: derivative, poorly executed, and without any identity of their own. It’s hard to judge child actors too harshly, but the film is also hurt by the young lead actress, who unfortunately doesn’t carry the role (although, to be fair, she did manage to perfect a pretty menacing stare). It’s really not worth watching.
