In 1997, while the country is going through financial difficulties, Sang-hoon (Choi Seong-guk) and his wife Ji-won (Kim Sung-kyung) run a boarding house, but they are unable to collect expenses from their tenants. The couple are facing the threat of bankruptcy. Making things worse, a loan shark (Lee Joon-hyuk) begins to harass Sang-hoon.
