Oblivion Ratings & Reviews
- Toronto122February 17, 2025When I first saw this movie, it was a complete surprise. An intriguing story line that sucks you in. Mix that with the beautiful scenery and Tom Cruise is in top form here.
- RonFlix316December 13, 2024Awesome!!!
- Chris C2d agoThis is a visually stunning movie, with gorgeous landscapes and scenery and the use of practical effects and visuals rather than go purely CGI makes it all the more impressive. The plot and premise feel pretty fresh compared to many other movies and there are some well-executed twists that occur, too. That said, it's also a bit slow at points and meanders occasionally. Still, this is a solid sci-fi action movie and deserves better than the initial reception it had.
- Johan PotgieterOctober 30, 2025If you like a good post apocalyptic sci-fi action love story, this is for you. I loved the story and will highly recommend it.
- LSDionysusDecember 16, 2025On of my favorite movies. A romance with existential questions wrapped in a sci-fi package. Great sound track too.
- mickerdooJuly 8, 2025Layered well and complex. Unfolds nicely. The design and world rules made the story come together. Has elements of others in the genre.
- Kevin WardJuly 3, 2025Pretty solid dystopian sci fi flick that mixed in tons of ideas that have been done many times before, but does so in a pretty slick package. Kosinski-Cruise combo even manages to work in some aerial dogfights sequences in a canyon, that likely informed some of the work they did in Top Gun: Maverick. Much more stacked cast than I remembered. Andrea Riseborough, Morgan Freeman, Jaime Lannister, Olga Kurylenko. Entertaining family watch and slightly better than I remember it being.
- makdelartDecember 12, 2025Visually and musically, it's magnificent, but the plot is sluggish and deserves more punch.
- Mister ArnMay 21, 2025"Oblivion" possesses all the ingredients necessary for a standout science fiction film, yet it doesn't quite delve deeply into the concepts it introduces. Despite its high production quality, the movie remains watchable but ultimately leaves no lasting impression.
- Robot MonsterNovember 18, 2025Very little of the story actually made any sort of rational sense, whether you're talking about what the movie presents itself as or what it eventually becomes.
- VandytNovember 15, 2025In the vein of Minority Report and Edge of Tomorrow, another intense and entertaining sci-fi movie with Cruise, though this time maybe with a few slightly boring stretches
- gibbensAugust 13, 2025It is a fun movie.
- SaturnFoxDieAugust 8, 2025Excellent movie. Love the twist.
- Michael SrockMarch 8, 2025Well filmed and music scores were awesome
- Thomas ChludzinskiMarch 4, 2025Its like if you asked chat gpt to write a distopian sci fi. the epitome of an "and-then-something-else-happened" movie
