Notorious Ratings & Reviews
- rvrsideSeptember 13, 2025An interesting plot which feels a bit rushed at times. Ingrid Bergman shows how good an actress she is while Cary Grant's role is more restrictive. I was unconvinced about the two characters' relationship until the end. Claude Rains is very good. There are a couple of really good scenes which makes the film stand out, otherwise it's no more than 'ok'.
- adecariaJanuary 6, 2025Watched this after reading a list of the top spy movies of all time. While the film showcases wonderful camera work and often clever use of innuendo, Cary Grant's restrained performance as Mr. Devlin leaves a wide romantic gap between he and his love interest, Alicia. The gap proves a little too much to be be fully closed by Ingrid Bergman, who does much of the romantic weightlifting in this film along with a terrific performance from Claude Rains as Sebastian. It's a good spy movie, but not top twenty.
