Night Game Ratings & Reviews
- Kevin WardNovember 18, 2025Roy Scheider investigates serial murders of young blondes while he’s trying to tie down a young blonde of his own. The 80’s were pretty wild, man. You don’t see many protagonists like Roy Scheider’s Seaver anymore (thankfully). He’s engaged to a blonde some 25-30 years his junior whom he seemingly has a history with her mother. He gifts her mother a 19 inch television she didn’t ask for that he’s paying for in installments and begrudges the fact that she’s not thankful. He dismisses one potential suspect as harmless because he’s merely a known panty-sniffer. Plenty of other things made him generally unlikeable, most notably that he’s a Houston Astros fan. Off-screen kills, place even less emphasis on a pattern of killings during Astros home night games. And the eventual killer reveal and resolution are sadly uneventful. The wildest part of the ending was the newlyweds attending the Astrodome in full tux and gown and thanking the ballplayers. Weird flick. Pretty fun watch though.
