    Oboy. I stumbled across this on streaming and it’s exactly the kind of oddball relic that makes you wonder how Marvel’s live action history could’ve turned out differently. David Hasselhoff struts around in an eyepatch as Fury, chewing scenery like it’s Baywatch but with Hydra instead of lifeguards. Lisa Rinna pops in as Val, Sandra Hess hisses her way through Viper and the whole thing feels like a TV pilot that somehow escaped into movie form. The plot? Hydra’s kids grab a virus, Fury comes out of retirement in the Yukon and we get ninety minutes of campy one liners, rubbery sets and acting that makes you nostalgic for German TV dubs. It’s bad acting, sure, but in that “so bad it’s good” way, the kind of thing you stream late at night and laugh at while wondering how Marvel ever thought this would launch a franchise. Compared to today’s CGI heavy blockbusters, this feels refreshingly hollow in a different way: no polish, no billion dollar stakes, just Hasselhoff growling through Hydra melodrama. And honestly? That makes it weirdly fun fo a one time watch.
