My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 Ratings & Reviews
- Manuel FrangisApril 15, 2025I just watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This one felt special. It is not just another chapter in the story — it is a trip home. And I mean that literally. They go to Greece this time, and as someone who is Greek, I loved every second of it. The scenery, the food, the music, the people — it brought back so many memories. It felt like being there with your family, with all the chaos and love that comes with it. This movie follows Toula and her family as they travel to Greece to fulfill a final wish from her father. The story is simple, but it works. It is about family, connection, honoring your roots, and bringing people together. It is a little more quiet than the first two movies, but that is what I liked about it. It is not trying to outdo the past. It is just trying to celebrate it. And it does that beautifully. Nia Vardalos once again carries the movie with heart and humor. You can tell how personal this one is for her. She is not only starring in it — she directed it too. And it shows. The whole film feels like a love letter to Greece and to the generations that came before us. Her performance as Toula is still full of warmth and that same nervous energy that made her so relatable in the first movie. She is older, wiser, but still very much Toula. The rest of the family is right there with her. Aunt Voula, as always, steals every scene she is in. She is outrageous, dramatic, and hilarious. Andrea Martin is just magic. She brings the laughs every time. The extended family members each have their quirks, and the movie gives them moments to shine without feeling crowded. The new characters we meet in Greece add a really nice touch too. You can feel how different things are over there, but also how connected it all feels. Greek is Greek — no matter where you are. One of the most beautiful things about this movie is how it shows Greece. The village is small and peaceful, the food looks incredible, the sunsets are dreamy, and the atmosphere just wraps around you. It made me want to go back immediately. There is so much pride in every shot. And for anyone with roots there, it hits different. It made me think about my own family, my grandparents, and the stories we all carry. The humor in this one is more gentle than wild. There are still funny moments, and you will definitely laugh, but this one is more about warmth and connection than nonstop jokes. It is about family coming together — sometimes awkwardly, sometimes emotionally — and remembering who they are. I really appreciated that. It is different, but in a good way. I give My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 5 out of 5 stars because it reminded me of where I come from and made me proud to be Greek. It is not just a movie. It is a homecoming. It is a reminder of how strong family is, how powerful traditions can be, and how much love exists in the chaos. Overall My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is a beautiful, heartfelt movie that brings the story full circle in the most genuine way. It made me laugh, made me emotional, and made me want to hug my whole family. I absolutely loved it.
