Mutti - Punkrock was my first love

Directed by Mathias Söhn

1981 West Berlin. Kreuzberg is surrounded by water and concrete. To artists and dropouts, this island has a fascinating, magnetic effect. Due to the many possibilities offered by West Berlin, it attracts the many "unassimilated", who went there to test their anti-bourgeois lifestyles. Even the 18-year-old conscientious objector Mutti, then still Kai Keller, goes to Kreuzberg. He becomes a squatter, takes drugs, throws stones at the police and makes especially one thing: Punk music. Today, as the owner and patron of Muttis Booking, he carries the ideas of freedom and unconventionality into the here and now. The connoisseur and lover of old punk bands, still rather books the heroes of his youth, as to fill the O2 Arena, in Berlin with music where "maybe there's no heart anymore", caused by a complete sellout. This puts him in existential questions at times.
