This film is tough to rate. On the one hand, it showcases artistry and a unique perspective on a shoestring budget, but on the other hand it feels aloof almost art-for-art's-sake. There are tons of gorgeous shots of seedy NYC and who could tire of watching the enigmatic Zoe, who at 17 in this role gives a raw performance that actors twice her age would struggle to produce. Many stills from this film are suitable for framing and I could see it playing in the background of many parties. I take issue with the word-of-mouth marketing of this film as being a "revenge film." It may metaphorically be a revenge film, but it isn't on a practical level so if you watch this film with that expectation, you're bound to be disappointed. While it is remarkable what these young filmmakers were able to create with this film, it feels a little hollow unable to connect beyond collective rage at bad behaviors. We feel bad that she's been through the circumstances at the start of the film but then the actions she takes makes it hard to feel bad anymore. We become numb like she is, which is maybe the point, but that is opposite of what films traditionally give us . . . connection. Had there been someone who understood what was happening in the film but unable to stop it, maybe we could've grounded ourselves in that character, but instead it feels more like a music video without the music. We're just watching beautiful images at a distance from the tragedy that unfolds.

Classic 80s horror. Brutal and understandably so. Not for everyone but i enjoyed it.

I think it was a good movie to watch so that it teaches men and woman a hood lesson not to rape woman and for a woman to be fearless and strong and to the men not to be to hasty to rape a woman and it also helps to teach other woman also how to defend themselves by protecting themselves in any circumstances if anything like this should happen to them that they must always use some type of protection on how to protect themselves against vicious and dangerous men
