Moon is proof you don’t need a 200 million dollar budget to make a sci-fi masterpiece just vibes, existential dread, and Sam Rockwell talking to himself! This movie is so criminally underrated. It sneaks in these creepy, suspenseful horror elements while trapping you in a bleak moon base. Just as brilliant on a rewatch.

- Karin e BorisFebruary 9, 2026Maybe I was just overly empathetic while watching it, but it moved me a lot. For some reason it reminded me of the feeling of anguish in 2001: A Space Odyssey. It contains both extremely current themes and eternal topics. Great film, absolutely recommended.
- brycowardJanuary 21, 2026I generally enjoy media which explores how we define ourselves, and Moon is no exception. Rockwell's performance is exceptional, and his performance is the *entire* movie. The film is well paced, smartly edited, and tells and interesting story. Clint Mansell provides the score, which surprisingly, I never noticed (for better or worse). Sort of 2001: A Space Odyssey, sort of Alien, sort of Brazil. The feeling of being a disposable cog in a larger machine is pervasive in the modern world, and Moon explores that feeling with a sharp narrative to great effect.
