Directed by Terry Jones8.096%93%
Brian Cohen is an average young Jewish man, but through a series of ridiculous events, he gains a reputation as the Messiah. When he's not dodging his followers or being scolded by his shrill mother, the hapless Brian has to contend with the pompous Pontius Pilate and acronym-obsessed members of a separatist movement. Rife with Monty Python's signature absurdity, the tale finds Brian's life paralleling Biblical lore, albeit with many more laughs.

Monty Python's Life of Brian Ratings & Reviews
- Michael SurberApril 29, 2025Not as good as it's predecessor, The Holy Grail, but it still has some of the funniest Python gags ever. Extremely offensive with some of the humor but that's typical Python of course. How can anyone find the "Biggus Dickus" scene anything but hilarious?
- Eric BakkeJanuary 27, 2025Every joke lands perfectly, and if you’re a Christian, the humor cuts even deeper. From start to finish, it's packed with laughs and some of the sharpest comedic dialogue in film history. And the rivalry between the People’s Front of Judea and the Judean People’s Front? Absolute comedic gold.
- Rowan KrzysiakApril 7, 2025It's layered with surgically crafted moments that demand an educated audience, but never alienate with pomposity or pretension. On a flat, blind viewing it can feel overwhelming due to the dense with wit, satire, and historical irony. My guess though is that if you put in the effort and have even a passing interest in religious indoctrination then it’s endlessly rewarding, with more to discover on every rewatch.
