- johnmartinryan9 dicembre 2025This movie is legendary, from the dozen quotable lines, and an extra half a dozen quotable scenes. This is the peak of British humor! However it feels like they used up all of the best lines in the first half of the film, and forgot that they were writing for a movie and not a show. The film’s second half drags on, and makes you wonder what’s happening. Then ends suddenly.

When I discovered that my mother had never seen it, concluded--along with my sister--that there were likely whole years of the 70s and 80s that she couldn't have possibly understood what we were laughing about without having watched the movie. And we then began reciting, word for word, whole passages from it. Most Gen xers can do the same.
