🦈The aquatic Jurassic park is here and it’s a splash of terror. Great movie for shark fans and Nostalgic to Tremors fans as I am one I noted quite a few scenes. Better Story than the first more suspense than first too. Best Shark sequel movie since Sharknado 2 and Jaws 4. Also it not only fills us with some laughs and gasps it also gave some screams. Exploring the Trench more made it feel like Fox’s last movie with their Fox name Underwater back from 2020 except made more sense and isn't cosmic horror. Meg 2 The Trench is for sure a great film that also shows how dangerous exploring the depth can be and along with the illegal oil dumping. A movie that humans here in the real world can learn from is that the ocean isn’t to be fully explored and some things are better left untouched at least some of it. It also gave more suspense gripping adventure to Jonas in new heights or in this case depths. Along with an interesting sub story plot too of The Meg plot and Jonas plot. The only downside to this movie is it came out in a bad year as the Billion dollar movies like Mario, Barbie, and Oppenheimer are killing every other movies advantage to at least break the streak for just a day. Not even the TMNT movie and Spider-Man Across the spiderverse part 1 combined could beat them. Hopefully though Meg 2 can survive enough to get Meg 3 going.

Not a bad movie at all. Tons of action, suspense, sharks killing people. Not to mention other things doing the same. Fight scenes👍🏼. Some rehashing of 'JAWS’ scenes. And just Jason Statham being Bad Ass cool guy busting / blowing shit up. Rewatchable movie for me. Strong 3 1/2 out of 5 stars for me.

It's Jason Stratham being Jason Stratham. Movie is OK, but not as good as the first one.

Shark nonsense. In all seriousness, The Meg 2 is probably a worse movie than the first one, but knowing what you are going into softens the blow. The pacing is much better so it doesnt really drag like the first one. The audio was fine and aside from a few dodgy bit of green screen it looked pretty good.

Essentially, see my review on the first one. You get exactly what it says. Some interesting moments and comedic writing, but it definitely doesn't take itself seriously.

Not as good as the first movie, but still rocked.

Meg 2 is very much like the first. It has Jason Statham diving in trenches to fight big sharks, and intellectually, it's more of a spectacle. However, Watching Jason Statham fight Megs, along with some other creatures, is something that makes Meg 2: the trench a solid sequel.

Movie Producer: "I've got an idea. Let's take everything that sucked about the first movie and do it again! We don't need to learn any lessons"

the first one was good but... this one is SO BAD! its garbage! actual garbage!

If you liked the first one, you'll feel right at home here. The Meg 2 is bigger, dumber, and somehow even more chaotic. Statham’s back, the sharks are angrier, and the plot makes even less sense—but that’s kind of the point. It's loud, silly, and totally entertaining. The characters are still paper-thin and the logic is out the window, but when the mayhem kicks in, it’s hard not to enjoy the ride. Same deal as before: grab snacks, turn off your brain, and let the ocean-sized nonsense wash over you.

James Cameron could never. I think his head would implode if he read the script or caught a glimpse of the CGI. It’s absolutely ludicrous. Jason Statham swims without a dive suit at 25,000 ft — and there’s about 24,999 more completely mind numbingly dumb things that happen. But, it’s also stupid fun—mostly when they get to the aptly named “Fun Island”. How the hell do they start the film with a crew dumping radioactive waste into the ocean, and there is absolutely no mutant sharks or mutant sea creatures in this? “See you later, chum” is an all-time great line though. There should have been way more mouth cam scenes. Clearly, I’m torn. I sort of hated it. Also, I a little bit loved it.

It says okay but a bit over exaggerated
