Man of Steel Ratings & Reviews
- AntonioFebruary 25, 2025So sick of these reviewers using all these words to make them sound like they're intelligent and important. Do you like movies? Are you a Comic book/Superhero fan? Like/Love superman? This is a great film. Looks great, feels great, fun to watch and enjoy. Just watch it - end of story - and if you don't like it, I guess it's not for you. You don't need to write up some BS review tearing it apart because it didn't meet YOUR demands. Go ahead and make your own superman movie if you're so annoyed :) Great soundtrack also. Zimmer nailed it often.
- Manuel FrangisApril 7, 2025I just watched Man of Steel, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie absolutely blew me away. It is bold, emotional, and full of incredible action, but what really surprised me was how thoughtful and personal it is. It is not just a superhero movie. It is a full-on origin story that takes its time to show you what it means to carry the weight of being something more than human. From the very beginning, the movie sets a different tone. You are not dropped into a world that already knows Superman. You are watching it all come together. The pacing is a little slower in the first half, but it works. It builds the character of Clark Kent in a really grounded way. You see his past through flashbacks. You see his doubts, his questions, and how his powers have always made him feel separate from everyone else. That part of the story really hit me. Henry Cavill is perfect as Clark Kent. He brings strength, kindness, and a calm presence that fits the character so well. But he also brings vulnerability. You can see that he is figuring it out as he goes, trying to live up to an idea that everyone else has about him. It makes him feel human, even though he is anything but. His journey feels earned. He does not just become Superman because he has powers. He becomes Superman because he chooses to. The relationship between Clark and his parents is one of the strongest parts of the movie. Both sets of parents, from Krypton and Earth, play a huge role in shaping who he is. The scenes with Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent are emotional and powerful. You can feel the love and the fear in how he tries to protect his son from a world that is not ready for him. It is that emotional core that gives the movie so much weight. Visually, this movie is on another level. The way Krypton is designed is epic. The ships, the suits, the technology—it all looks amazing. And when the action kicks in, it is some of the best superhero action I have seen. The fight scenes are fast, intense, and feel like what you would actually expect if godlike beings went head to head. Buildings crumble, shockwaves ripple, and every punch lands with weight. Michael Shannon as General Zod is a great villain. He is not just evil for no reason. He believes in what he is doing, and that makes him even more dangerous. His scenes with Superman are tense, and the way he pushes Clark to make difficult choices adds so much to the story. The music by Hans Zimmer is incredible. The score is powerful, emotional, and gives Superman his own theme that feels fresh and strong. It is not trying to copy what came before. It is building something new, and it works perfectly with the tone of the movie. I give Man of Steel 5 out of 5 stars because it is bold, emotional, and full of heart. It reimagines Superman in a modern world while still staying true to what makes the character great. Overall Man of Steel is a powerful and thoughtful superhero film that shows the weight of having great power and the strength it takes to choose hope. I loved every minute of it.
- RyezooFebruary 20, 2025I haven't seen this film since it came out and ended up liking it a little bit more. The beginning of the film with Russel Crowe might be the best part. It feels like a short film in the superman universe. You instantly buy into all the drama and quickly has you on the edge of your seat. I also really enjoyed the storytelling orgin style they used in this film. Showing how Superman grew up and life experiences he had that involved with using and not using his powers. Kevin Costner, for as little as he's in the movie, he's fantastic. Now the bad. The mass destruction the movie showcases just takes me out of the film. I get it. The plot is about destroying earth and making krypton but the amount of damage and the thousands of people that would be dead is just silly. I also don't agree with the choice superman makes at the end of the film. The product placement in this is stuff made from nightmares. Who seriously has a fight in an ihop. Man of Steel is a good but flawed superhero film
- The Boys' PlexJune 24, 20252nd best Superman film of all time
- Lincoln and Blake FrankJune 21, 2025Best superman movie ever!!!
- Gerald InmanJune 7, 2025This variant of the Superman movie and franchise took a little more time to produce, and all the efforts paid off and clearly shown in this wonderful adaptation of the DC Comic hero. Henry Cavill took the reins of an already well established franchise and made this Superman movie worth watching. The movie is enjoyable for those fans who love and follow comic book movies. Director Zack Snyder sometimes has hits and misses, but this adaption of the DC Comic hero is well crafted and executed. Having top-notch acting talents of Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Russell Crowe also greatly helped the film. Rounding out the top talents with another legendary soundtrack by Hans Zimmer makes this Superman movie incredibly enjoyable.
- James TangJune 4, 2025I genuinely have no idea why this movie is as well regarded as it is. It's absolutely joyless. The editing is disjointed. The performances (save Amy Adams) are incredibly flat and the "Superman is literally Jesus" narrative is cringeworthy. It insists upon itself.
- Donovan AdkissonMay 24, 2025The best superman movie of my generation, Generation X.
- Mister ArnMay 19, 2025Superman's origin retold with apocalyptic bad guys from Krypton. It's all action with no character development, not even Superman.
