- parktool6917. April 2026I love abba
- James Saenz14. April 2025pales in comparison to the first but i still had such a fun goddamn time. the big numbers with the cast and dozens of extras dancing around are pure serotonin. “my love, my life” had me in tears what a cathartic experience. lily james doing cartwheels in an orchard and getting chased by a goat is peak cinema. as usual full review on letterboxd. link in bio.

- Meffman8. März 2026A super-fun sing-a-long movie that you can lose yourself in either watching or listening while hanging out around the house.

- stuhannaford19. Februar 2026If awful karaoke, masquerading as comedy is your kind of thing, you'll love it. If you loved the original, you'll probably like this. If the first film wasn't your cup of tea, like myself, you'll not be a fan. Mamma Mia! at least had a simple story, with a nice, neat conclusion. This is very much a rehashed, cash grab, with shoehorned B sides, stitched hastily together for a story that simply didn't need to be told. Let's not even get onto the fact that Cher is that wooden, she genuinely looks like she is reading the script for the very first time from an autocue placed over the shoulder of her opposite actor, and for whatever reason, they decided one take would be enough. I can only imagine that the writers realised that second rate songs and a less than perfect 'big' star finale were really struggling to pad things out, and so decided to rehash sizeable parts and just add extra camp and jazz hands... which for a sequel to an ABBA musical, is saying something. A story of little interest or depth, with a bucket full of sparkle and shine dumped on top. If you are looking for anything other than a drunk sing-a-long, this won't be of much interest.
- ርልዪረ27. September 2025Disappointing. Despit the all star cast, the film lacked the joy and freshness of the original film - and its main protagonist Donna - Meryl Streep. The one truly touching scene in the film was the only scene where Streep was present. The casting of the younger versions of the fathers from the first film was off the mark and there appeared to be little chemistry between them and Lilly James. Although James gave a good performance, her Donna lacked the charisma of Streep’s version and it made it impossible for me to believe it was the younger version of her. The film had a lot of pointless fluff and wasted the talent of its cast and especially didn’t do much with Amanda Seyfried’s Sophie. If anything, this film was about grief, and the gaping hole that’s left when someone like Donna leaves the world and how those who are left behind try to deal with it. I’m not sure it made any sense to make this film without Donna - for she was sorely missed. The tone and the music just didn’t live up to its predecessor. Sometimes it’s better to say - thank you for the music and let it be.
- BrianNott12. Juli 2025Another brilliant’feel good’ movie for the ages
- gmrxbox15. Oktober 2024I don't really know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I think this is the superior Mamma Mia. The numbers are just more fun, more creative. "One of Us" was one of the first numbers that really impressed me. Separation anxiety between two long-distance lovers, with editing techniques to show them doing things in parallel. It's powerful, and not just the popcorn fluff that you might expect. But that's there, and pretty fun too. And there's Cher!
