The well-known stunt director Aleksandr Konov decided to make a Russian-French film. The project fails, and Konov himself first gets into the Russian police on suspicion of kidnapping the heir to the Romanov dynasty, and soon Russian detectives begin to hunt him as the main suspect in the kidnapping of the heir to the Russian emperors, Grand Duke Dmitriy Romanov.
