Madame Web Ratings & Reviews
- Abba14h agoOh man, I dunno what the hell i watched lol. The acting was so bad, the action was so laughable, the plot you don’t really care for. It felt like the quality of a CW show lol
- VarunOctober 19, 2024I was expecting maybe a little bit of entertaining camp but I made a mistake watching this. How did it manage to be worse than Morbius? The actors aren’t even trying, it’s so bland. The dialogue is boring and corny. The shoddy camera work on the fight scenes gave me an actual headache. The CGI is terrible. The story premise seemed like it could be decent at first but it has no compelling energy to move it forward in an interesting or fun way. I couldn’t find a single saving grace. I saw some articles comparing it to bad superhero movies from the early 2000s but trust me this movie is worse. The poster and trailer false advertise the other spider-women heroes that are only in the movie for a minute. No idea why Sony is green lighting this nonsense. And I can’t believe I spent a couple of minutes writing this review for a movie that doesn’t deserve any more of my time lol
- RichyE1d agoMadame Web introduces Cassandra Webb, a paramedic who begins to experience visions of the future. As she uncovers hidden truths about her past, she forms unexpected connections with three young women whose lives are mysteriously intertwined with hers. Together, they face a looming threat that tests their strength and unity. 🕷️ What to Expect Psychic Powers & Spider-Verse Hints: The film explores clairvoyance and destiny, with subtle nods to broader Marvel lore. Star Power: Dakota Johnson leads a cast that includes Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor. Stylized Presentation: Expect moody visuals, urban settings, and attempts at suspense-driven storytelling. ⚖️ Verdict Madame Web aims to be a mysterious, character-driven superhero origin story, but struggles with execution. While the premise has potential, the film is weighed down by uneven performances, clunky editing, and a lack of narrative momentum. It may appeal to fans of offbeat superhero cinema or those curious about the Spider-Verse’s deeper corners—but temper expectations.

- neuroparadox6d agoExtra half star for the cute stunt pigeon 🐦 I named her Sarah ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A master class in bad acting, editing, and sound -- with emphasis on shitty ADR. Watch Corman's The Fantastic Four (1994) instead, at least they tried to try a bit 🤷♂️
- Ian HauserApril 12, 2025WTF was that.
- Lakari7d agoWhy bring in the costumes, if they weren’t going to really use them Dakota Fanning is a victim of some terrible writing and directing Kinda waste of Spider Women, if ya ask me
- M08YJuly 19, 2025Sony was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching terrible movies right before they made Madame Web
- Kevin WardJuly 2, 2025Holy sh🤩. It really is that bad. Things that stood out (in a bad way), the ADR on Ezekiel Sims dialogue. Why? I mean, the dialogue in the rest of the film is pretty laughable on it’s own. How bad could Sims’ dialogue have been that it needed to dubbed over. The action sequences are boring. Watching Dakota Johnson walk briskly trying to convince people to they’re in danger, is about as exciting as it gets. Add in choppy edits and some camera movements that I can only really describe as ugly, I’m legitimately surprised as how disengaging this was as a film. Even the posters are atrociously ugly. Like….What? You have Dakota Johnson and Sydney
- RyezooFebruary 4, 2025"When you take on the responsibility, great power will come.” 🤮🤮🤮 If you were here to see Sydney Sweeney she’s in a spidey suite for 25 seconds of the movie. This movie is goofy. The Amazon spider people had me dying laughing. The dialogue is poor, not as poor as Sony is to be making this garbage. No explanation other than for the trailers to have villain look like spiderman. Speaking of the villain, it feels like every single line of his was ADRed. Nothing sounded like it came out of his mouth. The action is lame, but atleast how awful the third act set piece looks made it slightly entertaining. I’m begging you Sony please stop making these. I’m sure Kraven will be just fine…..
- stuhannafordJune 1, 2025Yeah, not great, but I think it can be explained by some simple misunderstandings. Rahim was told to act like a piece of the proverbial, but must have just read, act… well, proverbial. Johnson, act nonchalant and, ‘yeah whatever, I don’t care’… she must have read ‘act’ as ‘be’. Simple mistakes, but they make an impact. Putting aside the acting, the script is pretty good… sorry, I mean terrible. The three visual stereotypes of our heroines all being switched over during one conversation feels like a, ‘gotcha, aren’t we progressive?’ It is a real shame, as the premise of the story overall has potential, it’s just wasted by a very lazy script, and seemingly, very bored actors… and that’s being kind.
- tellumMay 29, 2025This will be a cult classic for bad movie lovers. My favorite is the hacker who appears out of nowhere, has zero backstory or character development, exists only as a plot device for the villain to find the heroes, and after a certain point is never seen again even after the villain is defeated. A Magical Mess!
- joshuamc40February 27, 2025Marvel keeps defining rock bottom.
- anth385February 15, 2025Entertaining and fun but the ending was bonkers and hard to follow. What happens next in this universe?
- 匚卂尺ㄥFebruary 14, 2025'Madame Web' follows Cassie Webb, a young woman who discovers her psychic abilities. As she learns to control her powers, she must protect three girls from a villain named Ezekiel Sims, who aims to eliminate them before they can become future Spider-Women. The film follows Cassie's journey of self-discovery and her efforts to safeguard the future of these potential heroes. This was a rather mediocre film that wasn't anything special but neither is it that bad like a lot of reviews have made it out to be. It was certainly entertaining but I feel the whole storyline was rather rushed and the three girls Cassie helps protect needed more character development and to be given more to do. The editing and special effects can sometimes come across clucky and distracting, and the villain Ezekiel Sims was also underwhelming and could have been portrayed better. On a more positive side it did have a few suspenseful and cleaver moments such as when Cassie has to use her ability of seeing the future to save the girls. Dakota Johnson also gave an amusing performance as Cassie. Overall, this isn't the best superhero film but I doubt it's the worst and it still manages to be entertaining.
