Small village in the mountains of Kazakhstan. The protagonist is a nine-year-old boy, Yerken, who resourcefully lives by himself. Finally the day comes when his older brother returns home. Yerken is full of joy and happiness. Unfortunately, the older brother turns out to have a much weaker character than Yerken, who doesn't notice due to his love for his brother.
